Jenny Beshear Sewell is the daughter of the late Elder Eddie and Virginia Beshear who owned and operated Beshear Funeral Home together for many years. Jenny, the third generation of the Beshear Family to operate the funeral home, grew up in this firm and always knew continuing and growing the caring vision of taking care of families at Beshear Funeral Home was her calling. Working full-time at the firm since 1991 she has extensive experience and continues to work in every area of the business. Presently she works directly with each family to help them create quality ìafter life ceremoniesî depicting the essence of the personalities of their loved ones. Additionally she assists our families with their pre-need planning. Jenny and David Sewell have 2 sons, Gavin and Trevor Sewell. Jenny holds a BME and a Masters in education from Murray State University.
David Sewell has 40 years of experience and expertise in embalming and restorative arts offering the utmost care for your loved ones. Additionally, having worked professionally in life insurance much of his life, David helps to relieve stress from our families at a time when there is so much to handle by processing all the insurance paperwork to recoup the costs of the services. He will handle your claim with honesty and with integrity. David is a graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science.
Gerry has worked for forty years with the public as a cosmetologist and hairdresser owning and operating Gerry's Hair Barn in the Charleston Community for 35 years. Her warm, caring and friendly personality and genuine desire to professionally serve the public makes her a wonderful greeter and receptionist. Gerry came to appreciate being a greeter and receptionist for a funeral home from her mother before her who served as a funeral home attendant in Indiana. Gerry and her late husband, Marion, have two sons, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Missy grew up in Princeton, Kentucky. A graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, TN with a degree in church music, she has served as music director in churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, New Jersey & Florida. Having studied funeral directing at John A. Gupton College, also in Nashville, Missy brings a tremendous wealth of knowledge, resource and talent to assist our families in creating a very special after-life celebration. She creates DVDs, personalized stationery, special services such as our Annual Christmas Service of Remembrance & Hope, and she assists in creating a loving and compassionate atmosphere by organizing and preparing picture displays and seasonal dÈcor throughout the funeral home. Missy has been with Beshear Funeral Home since 2008 and received her funeral director's license in 2017.
Rachel has extensive experience in the healthcare field as a CNA and environmental services director most recently joining the staff at the Dawson Springs Health and Rehab Facility. Rachel strives to care for the premises and facilities of Beshear Funeral Home to create a clean and hospitable environment. Additionally, she is an excellent part-time greeter, receptionist and floral arranger. Rachel is married and has two children.
Carole Grisham was also a third-generation caregiver at Beshear Funeral Home. Carole, her mother, Rowena Townsend, and sister, Marsha Hall, have all three passionately and compassionately striven to care for the premises and facilities to create a clean, homey, environment for families. Carole was the Facility Caretaker, Greeter, Receptionist and Floral Arranger prior to her retirement at which time her younger sister, Marsha Hall, took her place. Oftentimes for special occasions Carole would assist Marsha in the care of the facility, working with families and floral arranging. Carole perished in the December 10, 2021 tornado along-side her sister, Marsha Hall. Carole has a son, a daughter, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Marsha Hall was also a third-generation caregiver at Beshear Funeral Home. Marsha, her mother, Rowena Townsend, and sister, Carole Grisham, have all three passionately and compassionately striven to care for the premises and facilities to create a clean, homey, comfortable, and hospitable environment for all our families. Marsha perished in the December 10, 2021 tornado with her sister, Carole Grisham, by her side. Marsha has two sons, a step daughter she thought of as her own, and one grandson.
A former Kentucky Baptist pastor and denominational worker, Brother Rickey was a Baptist pastor for many years and a former Kentucky Baptist Convention executive director, vice president and treasurer. Rev. Hatley served as a kind and caring greeter and funeral attendant for a short period of time anticipating a larger role after his Baptist pastoral retirement. Rev. Hatley was cut short as a result of a brief battle with COVID in 2021. He and his widow, Carol, have three daughters and four grandchildren.
The former Business and Office Specialist for Beshear Funeral Home, Leatrice McNeily, worked all of her life as a bookkeeper for accounting firms in Madisonville, Kentucky. The last CPA Firms she worked for were Hoskins & Francis and York, Neal and Associates. After retiring from full-time employment, she began working at Beshear Funeral Home in 1996 and continued with the firm until the fall of 2021. She was a strength of character, always being dependable, kind, capable, professional, and totally reliable. Leatrice and her late husband, Harold, have four sons, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
