Virgil Deon Ladd, age 81, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on December 29, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Ladd was born in Dawson Springs, KY to the late McKinley Ladd and Lillian Audrey Crow Ladd on January 28, 1940 in Dawson Springs, KY. He operated the first bucket truck that entered Hopkins County for Kentucky Utilities. Mr. Ladd was a skilled concrete and carpentry worker and worked for 20 years and retired with Westate Construction. He was a member of the Lafayette Baptist Church and he attended Dunn Baptist Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty Kaye Johnson Ladd of Dawson Springs, KY; one daughter, Deonna Kaye Ladd Adams (Michael) of Dawson Springs, KY; one sister, Ona Gayle Fraser of Clay, KY; two grandchildren, Joseph Deon Ladd and Regina Belle Adams; and one great-grandchild, Josephine Renee Adams.
Mr. Ladd is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Velva Berger and Glendal Faye St. Vincent; and one brother, Kimble Ray Ladd.
A visitation for Virgil Deon Ladd will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2021, from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at 1:30 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Bobby Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Cemetery near Dawson Springs, KY. Mr. Ladd’s service will be streamed live on Beshear Funeral Home Facebook beginning at 1:30 PM CST on Sunday, January 2, 2022.
