Viola "Gwyn" McDonald

Viola “Gwyn” McDonald, age 93, of Bardstown, KY passed away on June 7, 2024 at her residence.  Ms. McDonald was born on April 23, 1931 at Ilsley, KY to the late Jess Fredwick Fox and Birdie Earl Steadman Fox. She was a beloved mother and homemaker and a member of the Ilsley Christian Church.  

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Montey) Johnson of Bardstown, KY; two sons, John Fredrick (Sue) McDonald of Mesquite, NV; and James Robert (Jody) McDonald of Peoria, IL; three grandchildren, Jason (Beth) Johnson, Megan (Chris) Crow and Devon (Jesse) Sloan; six great-grandchildren, Hayden Crow, Kelton Crow, Braxten Crow, Dhatri Sloan, Dallon Sloan and Jessa Sloan.

Ms. McDonald is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, John Robert McDonald; Brother, John Emmet Fox; half-brother, Harold Fox; and half-sister, Louise Jackson.

Visitation for Viola “Gwyn” McDonald will be Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM CST, at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY.  There will be a graveside service held for Ms. McDonald at Ilsley Christian Church Cemetery with Elder Kenneth Jackson at 1:00 PM CST with Elder Kenneth Jackson officiating.
