Stephen Alec Strait, age 69, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on September 2, 2020 at Baptist Health, Madisonville, KY. Mr. Strait was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 8, 1951 to the late Lynn Francis Strait and Garnetta A. Stout Strait. As a youth Mr. Strait lived with his military father and family in Italy, Germany and all over the U.S. Consequently, he attended High School in Italy. After high school graduation he served his country in the U.S. Army serving time in the Vietnam War. While serving in the US Army for twelve years Mr. Strait completed training and worked as an X-Ray Technician. Upon completing his military career Mr. Strait became a manager for MTI and brought to Western Kentucky a “mobile unit” offering MRI technology to the hospitals and patients in Western Kentucky for the first time.
Mr. Strait is survived by his wife, Jane Simons Strait of Dawson Springs, KY; one sister, Mary Goodwin of Beaver Dams, NY; two daughters, Debra Strait of Russellville, KY, and Rebekah Caudill of Dawson Springs, KY; four sons, Stephen James (Toni) Strait of Newburgh, IN, Matthew (Erica) Bone, Scott (Laura) Mason, and Sean Mason all of Lexington, KY; seven grandchildren, Eden Strait, Abby Bone, Joseph Bone, Ben Caudill, Micah Washburn, Finley Caudill and John Henry Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Mr. Stephen Alec Strait will be Sunday, September 6, 2020, from 1:00 PM (CST) until the funeral hour at 3:00 PM (CST) at Beshear Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Dawson Springs, KY. Rev. Mike Moschenrose will officiate. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Attendees of Visitation and Services will require “face masks” and “social distancing” in an effort to deter the spread of covid-19 infection.
Mr. Strait’s service will be streamed live on Beshear Funeral Home Facebook beginning at 3:00 PM, September 6, 2020 (To view: “Google” beshearfuneralhomefacebook and select “videos” among the menu options).
