Stanley Arthur Metherd, Jr.

Stanley Arthur Metherd,Jr., age 68, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Metherd was born on June 28, 1949 in Madisonville, KY to the late Stanley Arthur Metherd,Sr. and Nancy Audrey Riordan Metherd. He was a retired coal miner and was of the Christian faith. Stan was a 1967 graduate of Dawson Springs High School and as a young adult was the original drummer for the :Tikies” rock band.



Mr. Metherd is survived by his wife ~ Loura Baucum Metherd of Dawson Springs, KY; a son and daughter-in-law ~ John & Misty Cotton of Paragould, AR; a sister and brother-in-law ~ Annette & Bill Tanner of Massac County, IL and three grandchildren.



Preceding Mr. Metherd in death are his parents and a sister ~ Nancy Metherd King.



Visitation for Stanley A. Metherd, Jr. will be on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY, The funeral will follow at 1:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Jimmy Lantrip officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.



Active Pallbearers are John Cotton, Tony Robinson, Christian Barnes, Jordan Cotton, David Purdy and Sharon Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bill Tanner, David King, Barry Smiley and Vince Wise.
