Ruth "Jean" Lucas East

Ruth “Jean” Lucas East, age 89, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017at Tradewater Health and Rehabitation, Dawson Springs. Mrs. East was born on February 7, 1927 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Robert and Wilma Houston Lucas. She was a factory worker and also she and her husband owned and operated the Y Grocery near Ilsley for many years. Mrs. East was a member of the Ilsley Holiness Church.



She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law ~ Greg and Brenda East of Dawson Springs, KY; a sister ~ Laverne Richter of Washington; a brother and sister-in-law ~ Larry and Chris Lucas of Washington; and a granddaughter and grandson-in-law ~ Ashlee Brook and Brandon White.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband ~ James Ralph East (departed 12/23/2009) and a brother ~ Harold Lucas.



Visitation for Ruth “Jean” Lucas East will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Rev. Charles Brooks and burial will follow at Ilsley Cemetery.



Pallbearers will be Brad Lucas, Mike East, Jimmy Littlejohn, Shawn Lucas, Scott East and Don Oldham.
