Ms. Rita Jane Gentry

Rita Jane Gentry, age 79, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Evansville, IN. Ms. Gentry was born on October 21, 1933, in Hopkins County, KY, to the late Walter M. Ridley and Lucy Jane Franklin Ridley. She was a 1951 graduate of Dawson Springs High School, an employee of the State of Kentucky, Department of Forestry for 20 years and she was a member of the First Baptist Church.



Ms. Gentry is survived by two step grandsons ~ Jeffery Clint Gentry of Murray, KY and Mark Allen Gentry of Dawson Springs, KY, and two step great grandchildren ~ Clint Outland Gentry and Keaton Rhea Gentry.



Preceding Ms. Gentry in death are her parents, the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Jasper C. Gentry (departed 12/12/2004), and a step son ~ Gary C. Gentry.



A graveside service will be held for Ms. Gentry on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Rosedale Cemetery. Elder Jeff Winfrey will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. Jackie Perkins.



Pallbearers will be Mark Gentry, Jeff Gentry, Clint Gentry, Ron Gentry, Jim Haulk, and James Gish.



Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to be made to the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Dawson Springs. Envelopes will be available at the graveside service.
