Ms. Irene Volker

Irene Volker, age 100, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Tradewater Pointe Nursing Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Mrs. Volker was born on August 24, 1915 in Charleston, KY to the late Albert Eli Purdy and Sara Jane Davis Purdy. She was a homemaker, and a beloved mother and grandmother and a member of Lafayette Baptist Church.



Mrs. Volker is survived by a daughter ~ Alice Oliver of Dawson Springs, KY; a son ~ John (Dianne) Volker of Adams, TN; two grandchildren ~ Heather Xaviera Volker and James Xavier Faughn; and four great-grandchildren ~ Justin Xavier Edwards, Matthew James Edwards, Joseph Xavier Faughn and Damien Asher Lee Faughn.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband ~ Leo Xavier; her second husband ~ Oliver “Buddy” Williams, Jr; a son ~ James Leo Volker, and a grandson ~ Frank Wayne Oliver.



Visitation for Mrs. Irene Volker will be on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Kathy Redden officiating.
