Ms. Irene Gordon Franklin

Irene Gordon Franklin, age 87, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Dawson Springs, KY. Ms. Franklin was born on January 28, 1929 to the late Henry Lee Gordon and Grace Elizabeth Rye Gordon. She was a 1947graduate of Dawson Springs High School and she enjoyed working for a number of years with the Family Drugs in Dawson Springs and additionally Arvin Manufacturing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dawson Springs.



Ms. Franklin is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law ~ Becky and Eldon James, and Liz and Billy Morris all of Dawson Springs, KY, a brother ~ Terry Darnell (Teresa) of Princeton, KY, and a twin sister ~ Maxine Gordon Grisham Ausenbaugh of Dawson Springs, KY



Preceding Ms Franklin in death includes her husband of many years Amon C. Franklin (departed 3-1-07), a brother ~ Robert Lee Gordon and an infant sister ~ Lorene Rachel Gordon.



Visitation for Ms. Franklin will be Saturday, March 19, from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY. Officiating will be Rev. David Fambrough. Active pallbearers include Lee James, Adam Darnell, Stephen Grimes, D.J. Hamby, Jordan James and Gary Grisham. Honorary pallbearers include Billy Morris, Eldon James, James Ausenbaugh, Johnny Garrett and David Garrett. Burial will follow at the Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
