Mrs. Virginia B. Lisanby receives death summons in Madisonville Hospital Saturday.

At Baptist Health Hospital, Madisonville, last Saturday morning, January 2, 2016, at 8:30 o’clock, the death angel summoned Mrs. Virginia Lisanby, one of Madisonville’s beloved ladies.

Mrs. Lisanby had been suffering from heart failure and kidney failure for about a year. In company with her step-son, David E. Lisanby, she entered Baptist Health Hospital, where the best medical aid of the state was rendered. Mrs. L:isanby was the youngest daughter of Elive and Grada (Crunk) Lee. She was born in Lake Worth, FL on September 10, 1925, having attained the age of 90 years at her death.

The deceased was one on the city’s beloved older ladies, hell-pure, noble, Christian character and actions had long endeared her to all who knew her, and her death has cast a pall of gloom over those that knew her that can never be forgotten.

Mrs. Lisanby is survived by a step-daughter ~ Helen Lisanby of Tyner, KY; seven step-sons ~ David Lisanby of Madisonville, KY, William Charles Wayne (Karen) Lisanby of Lexington, KY, James Vernon Lisanby of Madisonville, KY, Maurice Lisanby, Jr. of Madisonville, KY, Larry Amon Lisanby of Mt. Vernon, IL, David Eugene Lisanby of Madisonville, KY and Frederick Glenn Lisanby of Lexington, KY; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband ~ Maurice Lisanby (departed 12/26/1989).
