Mrs. Mildred Ann Mitchell Purdy

Mildred Ann Mitchell Purdy, age 87, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 at her residence. She was born on March 21, 1927 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Jesse James and Gertie Mae Gamblin Mitchell. She was a beloved mother and homemaker and was a member of the Charleston Missionary Baptist Church.



She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law ~ Laurel and James Wheeler of Fredonia, KY, Brenda and Charles Tapp of Nebo, KY, Judy and Robert Long of Northern Kentucky, and Beverly and Harold Gray of St. Charles, KY; a son and daughter-in-law ~ Tom and Tina Purdy of Dawson Springs, KY; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years ~ Hershel Thomas Purdy; a granddaughter ~ Jennifer Tapp and eight brothers and sisters.



Visitation for Mrs. Mildred Ann Mitchell Purdy will begin Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 5 until 8 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY and on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 9:00 A.M.– 2:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Bryant and Dr. Robert Long officiating. Burial will be at Dunn Cemetery in Hopkins County, Kentucky.



Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Wheeler, Travis Purdy, Franklin Eaves, Fred Watts, Jesse Hendrix and Nathan Howton. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Purdy and Ray Purdy.
