Mrs. Kathleen Abbott

Kathleen Austin Abbott, age 72, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Hopkinsville, KY. Mrs. Abbott was born on May 3, 1943 to the late J.C. Austin and Vernell Baker Cansler in Ft. Myers, FL. She retired as a nurses aid after working for 25 years at Western State Hospital. She was of the Christian faith.



Mrs. Abbott is survived by her husband ~ Leon Abbott; a daughter and son-in-law ~ Tammy and John Dukes of Hopkinsville, KY; three sons ~ Harry T. Hudson (Carole) of Cadiz, KY, Barry Hudson of Hopkinsville, KY, and Jimmy Abbott, Jr. (Natasha) of Dawson Springs, KY; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.



Preceding Mrs. Abbott in death are her parents and a daughter ~ Tina Allen.



Visitation for Mrs. Abbott will be Saturday, March 12, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY, and on Sunday, March 13, from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Gary Brown. Active pallbearers include John Dukes, Ronnie Norris, Timothy Allen, Wayne Dukes, Adam Hayes, and Greg Owens. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopkins County, KY
