Mrs. Hazel Simons Cox

Hazel Simons Cox, age 96, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Tradewater Health & Rehab in Dawson Springs, KY. Mrs. Cox was born on February 10, 1920 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late William Mortie Simons and Mamie Elnora Townsend Simons. She was employed at Ottenheimer Manufacturing for many years and was a member of First Christian Church of Dawson Springs, KY.







Mrs. Cox is survived by her daughter and son-in-law ~ Diana Jill and Ken Carpenter of Louisville, KY; a son and daughter-in-law ~ Monty S. and Karen Cox of Dawson Springs, KY; two brothers ~ James (Anna) Simons of Dawson Springs, KY and Charles (Betty) Simons of Dawson Springs, KY; three grandchildren ~ Troy S. (Barbara) Cox, Chip (Shannon) Carpenter and Montica (Dr. Elton) Chambers; four great-grandchildren ~ Alex, Dawson, Townsend and Leona.







Preceding Mrs. Cox in death were her parents; her husband ~ Joy Monroe Cox (departed 12/28/1994) and a brother ~ William Edward Simons.







Visitation for Mrs. Hazel Cox will be on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Elder Jeff Winfrey and Rev. Dustin Morris officiating. Burial will follow in McNeely Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.







Active Pallbearers will be Chip Carpenter, Jed Simons, Scott Simons, Troy S. Cox, Jeff Simons and Tom Cox. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Simons and Charles Simons.
