Mrs. Dorothy J. Hunt, Auctioneer

Dorothy J. Ausenbaugh Hunt, age 74, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. Mrs. Hunt was born on August 29, 1940 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Everette Lee Ausenbaugh and Norma Williams Ausenbaugh. She was the co-owner and operator of Hunts Auction and Realty in Dawson Springs, KY. Mrs. Hunt was a 1958 graduate of Dawson Springs High School, a graduate of Owensboro Business College, the second licensed female auctioneer in Kentucky, and a real estate broker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dawson Springs, the United Methodist Women, and she was a Kentucky Colonel.



Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband of fifty four years ~ Colonel Franklin D. Hunt of Dawson Springs, KY, one daughter ~ Darla Hunt (Willie) Adams of Dawson Springs, KY; one son ~ David (Kathy Alfred) Hunt of Dawson Springs, KY; a brother ~ George (Willa Dean) Ausenbaugh of Dawson Springs, KY; two sisters ~ Sue Alexander and Audrey Jackson both of Dawson Springs, KY; and three grandchildren ~ Jacob Adams, Jeremiah Adams, and Desiree Hunt.



She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers ~ Billy Ausenbaugh and John Lee Ausenbaugh; and a grandson ~ Tyler Adams.



Funeral services for Mrs. Hunt will be on Thursday, June 4, 2015, 1:00 PM at the Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with the Rev. Brad Shuck and Rev. Jeff Graham officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Hunt will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, and on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the funeral service at Menser Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Jacob Adams, Jeremiah Adams, Scotty Alexander, Willy Adams, Shane Alexander, and Steven Gordon.
