Dorothy Cotton Simons, age 79 of Madisonville, KY, passed away at 11:26 A.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY. Mrs. Simons was born January 26, 1932 in Caldwell County, KY. She retired after working many years at the Commercial Bank of Dawson Springs and was a member of the Dawson Springs Methodist Church. She was a 1949 graduate of Dawson Springs High School.



Mrs. Simons is survived by a daughter and son-in-law ~ Jenna & Roger Bell of New Port Richey, FL; a son & daughter-in-law ~ Jed & Lynn Simons of Cadiz, KY; one brother ~ Joe Cotton of Safety Harbor, FL; a sister & brother-in-law ~ Linda & Gayle Purdy of Dawson Springs, KY; four grandchildren ~ Shawna Nicole Backhurst, Brittany Lee Simons, Melissa Katherine Bell & Caroline Elizabeth Bell; two great-grandchildren ~ Mircea Grace Backhurst & Banks Jaxon Backhurst.



Preceding Mrs. Simons in death were her parents ~ Garland & Mary McChesney Eli Cotton; her husband ~ William Edward Simons (departed 12/17/2008); brothers ~ John Cotton & Phillip Cotton; sisters ~ Betty Brown & Mary Grace Roberts.



There will be a graveside Service conducted for Mrs. Simons on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY. Elder Jeff Winfrey will conduct the service.



Beshear Funeral Home of Dawson Springs, KY is in charge of the service.
