CoLene Cluck, age 97, of Abbeville, Louisiana and formerly of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on January 10, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Cluck was born on December 6, 1916 in Christian County, KY to the late Floyd Henry Glover and Daisy Mae Bennett Glover. After graduation from high school she became a graduate of a two year business college. She was a co-owner of Cluck’s Grocery in Dawson Springs with her husband, Elliott Cluck for many years for which she helped to operate and provide book-keeping. In its final location Cluck’s Grocery was a forerunner to a modern day convenience store offering gas, bait, “Slushies”, Fried Chicken and a variety of supplies and goods needed by lake goers on the weekends and late hours when conventional groceries and gas stations were closed. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dawson Springs.
Mrs. Cluck is survived by her son~ Larry Cluck and his wife, Bonnie, of Olmstead Township, OH; daughter~Joyce Gayle Raeuchle and her husband, Kurt, of Lafayette, LA; a brother~ Cleatus “Sparky” Glover of Columbus, OH; Six Sisters~ Kathryn Fox of Madisonville, KY, Zetta Noga of Lincoln City, CA, Joyce Glass of Versailles, KY, Tina Ford of Bowling Green, KY, Floyedith Stills of Dixon, KY, and Jerry Higgins of Madisonville, KY; eight grandchildren~ Shawn Robinson, Philip Miller, Kaylin Miller, Bonnie Taylor, Joe Cluck, Christie Newbauer; and, she was particularly close to her two youngest granddaughters~ Kortney West and Kelsey Raeuchle; eleven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by several nieces and nephews with whom she enjoyed a loving relationship.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cluck is preceded in death by her busband, Carl Elliott Cluck (departed 10-25-88), a daughter, Linda Kaye Miller (departed 8-27-12), a sister, Patsy Kohutek, and a great granddaughter~ Amilya Charlotte Miller.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. A funeral service under the direction of Dr. Larry Davidson will be held after the visitation at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Shyflat Tabernacle Cemetery near Dawson Springs, KY.
Pallbearers are: Dennis Kohutek, Ralph Wayne Glass, Jeff Glass, Tony Higgins, Bill Fox and Tim Bachman.
