William E. Carroll, age 89, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Mr. Carroll was born on June 20, 1924 in Bosevain, VA to the late Sturgel and Ollie Hoeback Carroll. He was a roofer and also an evangelist for more than 59 years. Mr. Carroll was of the Apostolic faith. He served his country in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of World War II receiving the Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, American Theater Service Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Ribbon.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife ~ Ruby Jewell Covey Carroll of Dawson Springs, KY; three daughters ~ Janet Carroll of Louisville, KY, Lois Dione Thomas of Hopkinsville, KY & Arlene Wyatt of Nebo, KY; two sons ~ William Richard “Rick” Carroll and Steve Carroll both of Florida; two sisters ~ Betty Jean Barlow and Lois Marie Marino both of Virginia; two brothers ~ Raymond Carroll and Clyde Carroll both of Virginia; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Carroll in death are his parents; five brothers and one sister.
Visitation for Mr. William E. Carroll will be on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. and on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Dallas Covey officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
Steve Carroll, Steve Wyatt, Eric Covey, Rick Carroll, Steve Thomas and Mike Covey will serve as pallbearers.
