Mr. William Douglas Cornelius

William Douglas Cornelius, age 89, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Monday January 25, 2016 at his home. Mr. Cornelius was born on March 4, 1926 in Cerulean, KY to the late Luther Clarence and Effie Beatrice Ladd Cornelius. He was a 1944 graduate of Sinking Fork High School and served his country in the United States Army. He was retired from the Kentucky State Penitentiary.



Mr. Cornelius is survived by a daughter and son-in-law ~ Terri Leigh (David) Brown of Auburn, KY; a son ~ James Douglas Cornelius of Dawson Springs, KY; a brother ~ Dennis Cornelius of Cerulean, KY; three grandchildren ~ William Barnett Green, Sarah Beth Green and Jamie Leigh Markham.



Preceding Mr. Cornelius in death are his parents, his wife ~ Geneva Cornelius (departed 11/10/1992) an infant daughter and five brothers.



Visitation for Mr. William Douglas Cornelius will be on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY. Military Rites will be presented by the U.S. Army and the Hopkins County Honor Guard.



Active Pallbearers will be David Brown, Barrett Green, Caleb Poe, David Buckley, Tyler Markham and Rick Gibson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Becca Markham and Haley Gordon.
