Mr. Wayne Wagner

Lawrence Wayne Wagner, age 80, of Dawson Springs, Ky, died at 3:06 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born August 25, 1931, in Dawson Springs, to the late Lawrence Wagner and Ruby Brown Wagner Higgins.



Mr. Wagner was a 1950 graduate of Charleston High School. He began his mining career at United Electric, and also worked at Coiltown Mine and Pyro Mine. He was a bulldozer and dragline operator at P & M’s Colonial Mine for 26 years. He was a former member of the Dawson Springs Lions Club and served as an elder at Life Christian Center Church in Madisonville, KY where he attended for many years. He was an avid UK basketball fan and enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the Tradewater Riders.



Survivors include his caregiver and wife of 57 years, Georgia Wright Wagner, Dawson Springs, two daughters and caregivers, Denise Wagner Ridley, Chicago Ridge, IL, and Darsi Wagner (James “Doc”) Britt, Dawson Springs; two sisters, Betty Jo Wagner Laffoon, Dawson Springs and Janet Higgins Carner, Princeton; three grandsons, Nathan James Britt and Dr. Eric Britt both of Dawson Springs and Mike Britt, Magnolia, AR, three great-grandchildren, Chloe Grace Britt and Elijah James Britt, both of Dawson Springs and Makayla Britt, Magnolia, AR.



Visitation for Mr. Wagner will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Monday, June 25, 2012 and from 8:00 – 11:00 A.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the funeral home with Dr. H. O. “Pat” Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.



Active pallbearers will be Dr. James Britt, Nathan James Britt, Chuck Tokar, Bill Townzen, Beedie Bratcher and Wayne Bratcher. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Menser and Bob Shelton.
