Mr. Philip A. Grable

Philip A. Grable, 84, of Dawson Springs, Kentucky passed away on November 16, 2012 at the Tradewater Health & Rehab Center in Dawson Springs, KY. Mr. Grable was born on December 9, 1927 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Jewell Grable and Nellie Wagner Grable and he was a graduateof Hanson High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during which he served in Germany. For many years Mr. Grable worked as the manager and assistant manager with J.C. Penny stores in Madisonville and Princeton, KY and Dyersburg, TN. Additionally, Mr. Grable owned and operated a Western Auto Store in Dawson Springs.



Mr. Grable was active in the Dawson Springs community. He was a member of the Dawson Springs Rotary Club and he was a former president of that club. Additionally, he was active as a Cub Scout Leader and he was of Christian Faith.



Mr. Grable is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years~ Nana Faye Grable of Dawson Springs, KY; one daughter~ Sonja Grable of Dawson Springs, KY; one son~ Stacey Neal (Ashley) Grable of Dawson Springs, KY; one sister~ Marie Duvall of Hopkinsville, KY; three grandchildren~ Philip Wesley Thomas, Lauren Grable, and Colton Grable; two step-grandchildren~ Cade Trautman, and Cainan Trautman; four nieces~ Fayetta Hall, Nancy Stout, Donna Bradshaw and Michelle Colburn; and one nephew~ Louis Clayton.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Grable is preceded in death by a brother~ Lester Grable, and a sister~ Eva Grace Clayton.



Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2012 and from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Beshear Funeral Home. His funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Beshear Funeral Home, of Dawson Springs, Kentucky conducted by Elder Jeff Winfrey, with burial in Rosedale Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army at Rosedale Cemetery immediately after the funeral.
