Obituary for Michael Ray Midkiff, Sr.



Michael Ray Midkiff, Sr, age 66, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away at 10:43 A.M. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Dawson Springs Health Care, Dawson Springs, KY. Mr. Midkiff was born on May 6, 1945 in Ohio County, KY to Malcolm Herman and Wanda Mae Midkiff. Mr. Midkiff was a 1967 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He owned and operated Mike’s IGA Foodliner in Dawson Springs for 34 years. Mike will be remembered as a friend to his community in many ways, and especially for his many contributions in food items and support to countless school and civic functions. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson Springs. Additionally, he was a member of the Dawson Springs Rotary Club.



Mr. Midkiff is survived by his faithful wife, Glenda Midkiff of Dawson Springs, KY; his mother, Wanda Mae Midkiff of Dawson Springs, KY; a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Kathleen (Justin) Creekmur of Dawson Springs, KY; two sons, Michael Ray Midkiff, Jr., of Dawson Springs, KY, and Matthew Shane (Rayna) Midkiff of Dawson Springs, KY, three brothers, Steve Midkiff of Portsmouth, OH, Brent Midkiff of Muhlenberg County, KY, and Tim Midkiff of Dawson Springs, KY. And additionally, Mr. Midkiff is survived by five grandchildren, Jackson, MacKenzie, Claire, Caleb, and Zachary.



Preceding Mr. Midkiff in death is his father, Malcolm Herman Midkiff.



Friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held for Mr. Midkiff on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY. Rev. Larry Davidson is to officiate and Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs is in charge of the service.
