Mr. Merle Ray Clayton

Merle Ray Clayton, age 46, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Clayton was born on December 20, 1969 in Dawson Springs, KY to Jerry Clayton and the late Ruby “Poodle” Adamson Clayton. He was self-employed as a contractor for the Kentucky New Era and was a member of Baptist Temple in Dawson Springs, KY.



Surviving family members include: father ~ Jerry Clayton of Dawson Springs, KY; a daughter and son-in-law ~ Courtney Clayton (Michael) Woolfork, Jr. of Corydon, KY; two sons ~ Skyler (Brandi Carroll) Clayton of Dawson Springs, KY and Austin (BethAnne) Clayton of Madisonville, KY; three sisters ~ Teresa Putty of Hopkinsville, KY, Tonya Adams of Dawson Springs, KY and Megan Clayton of Dawson Springs, KY; two brothers ~ Roger Clayton of Sebree, KY and Brandon Thomas of Dawson Springs, KY; three grandchildren ~ Aubrie Woolfork, Michael Woolfork III, and Caleb Ray Clayton and many nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his mother.



Visitation for Mr. Merle Ray Clayton will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 11:00 A.M.until 1:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Beshear Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
