Mr. Joseph Kenneth Mcknight

Joseph Kenneth McKnight, age 80, of Christian County, KY near Dawson Springs, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville, KY. He was born in Christian County, KY on May 22, 1933 to the late Joe McKnight and Nodie Cline McKnight. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U. S. Army. Mr. McKnight was retired after 20 years with Island Creek Coal Company. During his mining career he served the management team as both a face boss and additionally as a mine superintendent. Mr. McKnight also enjoyed farming.



He is survived by a daughter~ Lisa McKnight; a son and his wife~ Terrell (Debbie) McKnight; three grandsons and their wives~ Josh (Sarah) McKnight, Micah (Amber) McKnight, Eric (Mary) Shelton; and six great grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife~ Nora Mae Pleasant McKnight (departed 7-15-2012); brother~ Arnold McKnight; Half Sister~ Marie Dillingham.



Services for Mr. Joseph Kenneth McKnight will be Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. J.W. Haire officiating. Visitation for Mr. McKnight will be on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 2:00 P.M. Military rites will be conducted by the U. S. Army prior to burial at the Greenwood Cemetery.



Active Pallbearers will be Josh McKnight, Micah McKnight, Eric Shelton, Jeff McKnight, Jake McKnight, and Zack Chappel.
