Mr. James Calvin Adkins

James Calvin Adkins, age 85, of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Dalton, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Adkins was born January 22, 1927 in Hopkins County, KY. He was a member of the Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dalton, KY.



Mr. Adkins served his country in the United States Army from 1945-1946. He was a farmer and was a graduate of Dalton High School.



Mr. Adkins is survived by three nieces ~ Alice Best of Columbus, OH; Faye Davis of Edinburg, IL; and Paula Daniels of Rockport, IN.



Preceding Mr. Adkins in death were his parents ~ Lloyd and Bessie Stephens Adkins; three sisters ~ Ruth Oost, Neva Adkins and Verna Lois Bowman; two brothers ~ Huston Adkins and Berkley Adkins.



Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. John Shoulta on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dalton Cemetery in Dalton, KY.



Active Pallbearers will be Stephanie Hreha, Steve Best, Jeff Oost, Doug Tapp, Sarah Best and Roger Daniels. Sheri Wagner will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
