Ishmael Hibbs, age 100, of Sikeston, MO and formerly of Dawson Springs passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston, MO. Mr. Hibbs was born on February 17, 1914. He was a farmer and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Hibbs served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart award and was a fighting soldier during the invasion of Normandy.
Mr. Hibbs is survived by a grandson and his wife, Robert Earl Hibbs, Jr. and Teresa Hibbs of Dawson Springs, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son and daughter-in-law ~ Robert Earl and Patricia Hibbs, and a grandson ~ Richard Hibbs.
There will be a public visitation this Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home to be followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
