Mr. Cleatus H. "Sparky" Glover

Cleatus H. “Sparky” Glover, 96, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 in Columbus, OH. He was born December 13, 1918 to the late Floyd H. and Daisy May (Bennett) Glover. He proudly served as a U. S. Navy Sea Bee in WWII, after which he worked with his father in the trucking industry. He later began his career in coal mining, moved his family to Coshocton, OH in 1962 and retired as vice president and co-owner of Auger Mining Co. in 1982. Cleatus was a founding member of the VFW in Dawson Springs, KY and was bestowed the honor of Kentucky Colonel in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, story-telling, Ohio State Buckeye football and, above all else, his family. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.



He is survived by daughter ~ Dee Ann Cole of Columbus; son ~ David Kent (Chris) Glover of Coshocton, OH; two grandsons ~ Jason and Jordan Glover; sisters ~ Katherine Fox, Zeta Noga, Joyce Glass and Floedith Stills; many nephews, nieces and their families.



He is preceded in death by parents, his loving wife of 69 years ~ Charity; daughter ~ Barbara Jo; son-in-law ~ Don Cole; sisters ~ Patsy Kohutek, CoLene Cluck, Jerry Higgins and Tina Ford.



A service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with the Rev. Cliff Jones officiating. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 AM until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Shy Flat Tabernacle Cemetery in Dawson Springs. Pallbearers will include Jason Glover, Jordan Glover, Tony Higgins, Jeff Glass, Steve Simmons, and Jim Simmons.



The U.S. Navy Guard will conduct military honors. Arrangements are entrusted to Schoedinger Funeral Services (Columbus) and Beshear Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any hospice or favorite charity in Cleatus’ memory.
