He was a very friendly and outgoing man who loved his wife and children dearly yet lost his battle with cancer. He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and a very generous man with a tender heart.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Jane Garrett of Dawson Springs, KY (62 years), and two daughters, Gwendolyn Sue Poliszczuk (Allen) of Madisonville, KY, and Jeannie Bertagnolli (Luke) of St. Charles, KY. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Steven Charles Yeager (Lindsey Sims) of Villa Rica, GA and Tiffany Ellen Burton (Dwayne) of Dawson Springs, KY. He is also survived by one great-grand daughter, Emma Grace Yeager of Villa Rica, GA and two step-great-granddaughters, Kerri Cheyenne Burton and Mallory Renea Burton of Madisonville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Sue Garrett, and his father, Steward Garrett of Louisiana, his brothers Milton Garrett, Glen Garrett, James Garrett and Winston Garrett. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Madie Lindsey and Vera Rankin.
He is survived by his brother Billy Garrett (Pat) of Nashville, AR, and his sisters Hazel Cox of AR, and Daisy Fuqua of Louisiana. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. He will be loved and will be so missed.
Services are as follows:
Visitation will be on March 26th, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM at the Gospel Assembly Church in Dawson Springs, KY with the Rev. Ben Butero presiding. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY
