Mr. Charles Anthony Ramsey

Charles Anthony Ramsey, age 57, of Grand Rivers, KY and formerly of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Bumpus Mills Campground on Bumpus Mills, TN. He was born on August 20, 1957 in Madisonville, KY to Joyce Prow and the late James Gilliam Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey worked for many years as a coal miner with Island Creek Coal Company, Providence #1 Mines, and retired after 20 years at USEC in Paducah, KY. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Smithland, KY.



Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife of 36 years ~ Lorrie Ann Ramsey of Grand Rivers, KY; a daughter and son-in-law ~ Alysia Ramsey-Hayden and Shane Hayden; a daughter ~ Shauna Layne of Hardin, KY; six grandchildren ~ Taylor and Tate Hayden, Dillon, Avery, Lilly and Skyler Layne; his mother ~ Joyce Prow of Dawson Springs, KY; two brothers ~ Jim Ramsey and Lewis Ramsey both of Frankfort, KY; and a brother-in-law ~ Harold McAbee of Calvert City, KY.



Preceding Mr. Ramsey in death was his father who departed in 1998, and his grandparents ~ Felix and Glendola Ramsey and Ed and Laura Buchanan.



A funeral service will be held for Mr. Ramsey on Sunday, June 7, 2015, 3:00 PM, at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with Brother Billy Riley officiating. A visitation will be held for Mr. Ramsey beginning Saturday, June 6, 2015, from 5:00 until 9:00 PM and on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 3:00 PM.
