Alvin E. Thatcher, age 62, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at his residence in Dawson Springs, KY. Mr. Thatcher was born on April 6, 1951 in Caldwell County, KY to the late William and Georgia Christine McDaniel Potter. He worked for several years as a security guard and served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Army from 1969 – 1973. He was a member of the American Legion Post 310 of Dawson Springs.
Mr. Thatcher is survived by two daughters ~ Megan (Mitchell) Gamblin of Madisonville, KY and Melicent Christina Baker of Owensboro, KY; a son ~ Gregory Vincent (Larissa) Thatcher of Florida; two grandchildren ~ Tabitha Kirtley and Cedric Gamblin.
Preceding Mr. Thatcher in death were his parents; his wife ~ Judy Lee Thatcher (departed 8/1/2009) and a granddaughter ~ Carleigh Hope Gamblin.
Visitation for Mr. Alvin Thatcher will be from 12:00 P.M. until 1:45
P.M. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Dunn Cemetery with Rev. Randall Rogers officiating.
