Mary Lou Blankenship

Mary Lou Blankenship, age 84, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. Mrs. Blankenship was born on February 17, 1933 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Marion Hammock and Myrtle Ford Hammock. She was a retired LPN and worked at NHC for 30 years and also at the Hopkins County Hospital. She was a devoted mother, a Kentucky Colonel and volunteered for the DAPS program. Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the Dawson Springs Baptist Temple.



Survivors include a daughter ~ Peggy Trover of Dawson Springs, KY; two sons and daughters-in-law ~ Donnie & Debbie Johnson of Madisonville, KY and William Anthony & Dorothy Johnson of Dawson Springs, KY; a niece and her husband ~ Barbara & Mike Martin of Madisonville, KY; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband ~ William T. Johnson; her second husband ~ William Blankenship; two sons ~ Rodney Johnson and Rickey Johnson and a brother ~ Roy Hammock.



Visitation for Mary Lou Blankenship will be on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Howton officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Kentucky.
