Lisa Layne Wigley, age 59, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at her residence. Lisa was born on November 20, 1957 in Hopkinsville, KY to Smithen Wigley, Jr. and the late Mildred Janice Wilkey Wigley. She worked for more than 30 years as the Director of the Hopkins County-Madisonville Public Library. Lisa was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dawson Springs, Kentucky and was a 1975 graduate of Dawson Springs High School. She also held a Bachelor and Master of Library Science degree from Western Kentucky University.
Lisa was a Kentucky Colonel and had been awarded the honor of Librarian of the Year by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and was involved in CASA – the child advocacy organization, the Door of Hope, the Hopkins County Humane Society and a Redemption City donor.
Lisa Wigley is survived by her father ~ Smithen Wigley, Jr. of Dawson Springs, KY; her husband ~ Rick Moore of Dawson Springs, KY; a brother and sister-in-law~ Cole & Asha Wigley of Dawson Springs, KY; two sisters ~ Scarlet Lovins of Dawson Springs, KY and Manya Wigley of Dawson Springs, KY; an aunt and uncle ~ Mary Margaret and Joe Knight of Dawson Spring, KY; two nieces ~ Katya Barton and Natasha Wigley; a nephew ~ Blake Wigley; two great-nieces ~ Kaylee & Maddie; Step-Daughter ~ Brandy (Robert) Ray of Newburgh, IN; step-son ~ Ricky Moore of White Plains, KY; step-grandchildren ~ Aubrey Moore, Jessie Travis, Rickey Moore, III, Mason Ray and Addison Ray; Step-Great-Granddaugter ~ Julianna Travis and a beloved dog ~ JoJo.
Preceding Lisa in death was her mother ~ Mildred Janice Wigley and a step-son ~ Jason Moore.
Visitation for Lisa Layne Wigley will be on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Shuck officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Kentucky.
Active Pallbearers will be Sam Brown, Bob Campbell, Jon Cotton, Mark Fergerson, Billy Lovins and David Stallins. Jack Audas, Ruby Poe and Deward Stallins will be Honorary Pallbearers.
