Kenneth Benard Bearden

Kenneth Benard “Kenny” Bearden, longtime resident of Dawson Springs, KY passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY.



Preceding Mr. Bearden in death was his wife of 47 years ~ Rosa Workman Bearden; his parents ~ Benjamin F. and Lillian P. Bearden and his younger sister, Diane.



He was born on July 14, 1941 in Bessemer, Alabama, the third of four children. He was a 1960 graduate of Charleston High School and attended Murray State University before joining the United States Army. He served his country for eight years and saw combat in Vietnam where he extended his tour twice. He attended Charleston Missionary Baptist Church. Kenny worked at Cimarron Coal where he was considered by many to be the finest dozer operator in Western Kentucky. He was a great athlete, an avid golfer and fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and UK Wildcats. Kenny was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.



Mr. Bearden is survived by his his brother ~ Benny Bearden and his wife, Gale; a sister ~ Pauline Johnston; three sons ~ Eric Bearden, Kyle Bearden and his wife, Janice, and Jim Bearden and his wife, Christy; grandchildren ~ Lauren, Shane and his wife, Brittanee, Cole, Shelby, Zachary, Nathan and Patrick; many nieces and nephews and other family members.



Visitation for Mr. Kenneth Bearden will be on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 1:00 until the memorial service hour at 3:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Memorial Services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, August 24 2018. Burial will follow at Dunn Cemetery in Hopkins County, KY with military rites provided by the United States Army Honor Guard.
