John Wilburn Collins

John Wilburn Collins, age 65, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Tradewater Health and Rehabilitation in Dawson Springs, KY. Mr. Collins was born on August 2, 1943 in Pioneer, KY to Imogene Nichols Collins and to the late William Aster Collins. He worked as an electrician with General Motors for many years but due to an unfortunate accident involving a train and a vehicle he was handicapped for more than 30 years. Mr. Collins was a graduate of Utica High School in Utica, Michigan and was a member of First Baptist Church in Romeo, Michigan.



He is survived by his mother ~ Imogene Nichols Collins of Utica, MI; his wife ~ Paula Collins of Marion, KY; a daughter ~ Carrie Basnight of Bangkok, Thailand; two sons ~ William John Collins of Capac, MI and Anthony “Tony” Sean Collins of Cumming, GA; two sisters ~ Sue Crowley of Lapeer, MI and Lois Nuttenkamper of Las Vegas, NV; four brothers ~ Hargis Collins of Dryden, MI, Ronnie Collins of Utica, MI, Robert Collins of Clarkston, MI and Douglas Collins of Finley, OH; eight grandchildren ~ Jessica Collins, Jay Collins, Nikki Clement, Kristen Clement, Meghan Basnight, Landon Basnight Carson Basnight and Luke Collins.



He is preceded in death by his father and a brother ~ Dennis Collins.



Visitation for Mr. John Wilburn Collins will be Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 1:00 until the memorial service hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. E.J. Hatton officiating.
