Jimmie Lee Kennedy

Jimmie Lee Kennedy, age 83, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Kennedy was born on February 23, 1938 in Dalton, KY to the late Hubert Owen Kennedy and Lillian Wilson Kennedy. He was a member of Lafayette Baptist Church and was a 1956 Dalton High School graduate. Mr. Kennedy retired after working as a coal mining reclamation specialist. He also served the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff, and he served his country in the United States Air Force “Special Services”.

He is survived by his wife ~ Carolyn Sue Brown Kennedy of Dawson Springs, KY; a step-daughter ~ Amanda (Eddie) Robinson of Dalton, KY; two step-sons ~ Ryan (Jessica) Franklin and Jonathon (Natalie) Franklin both of White Plains, KY; a sister ~ Polly Ann Carter of Dawson Springs, KY; a brother ~ Dr. William “Bill” Kennedy of Estero, FL; nine grandchildren ~ Chad, Casey, Cory, Colton, Dillon, Adelyn, Mason, Lawson and Easton.



Mr. Kennedy is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter ~ Dawn Lee Vaughn; sisters ~ Louise Prow and Betty Carter and a brother ~ Ray Kennedy.



Visitation and Services for Jimmie Lee Kennedy will be private. Visitation times for Mr. Jimmie Lee Kennedy will be on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. John Riggs and Rev. Billy Neal Parrish officiating. Due to the weather, burial will follow on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Old Beulah Cemetery in Hopkins County, KY. The U.S. Air Force and Hopkins County Veterans Group will provide Military Honors at the funeral home after the service on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
