Jeannine L. Moore, age 80, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Tradewater Health and Rehab in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Mrs. Moore was born on August 9, 1936 in Oakland City, IN to the late Burl Park Lamb and Irene Kinkade Lamb. She was a 1954 graduate of Oakland City High School, Oakland City, IN. She received a BSEE (Cum laude) in 1960 from Oakland City College, Oakland City, IN, an M.A. from the University of Evansville, Evansville, IN in 1971, and she completed her Post-Graduate work from Murray State University where she received a Rank I in Administration.



Mrs. Moore experienced a rich educational career. She taught in the public schools in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois for 36 ½ years working as the first Instructional Supervisor for 19 ½ years at Dawson Springs Independent School District. She worked with the Hopkins County Adult Education Program for 10 years and as an adjunct Professor for Murray State University in their student teaching and intern teacher programs.



Additionally, Mrs. Moore was involved in a wide range of educational and professional activities. She was a member and officer in the Dawson Springs Education Association. She served on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators and on the Board of Directors of Educational Supervisors. She served on the Board of Directors and as an officer on the General Baptist Women’s Mission Board, and she was active in the local, regional and state education organization. In 1994 Mrs. Moore was honored to be named the “Kentucky Educational Supervisor of the Year” by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators. She has also served as a member and officer of the Dawson Springs Educational Foundation and she was a member of the Hopkins County Retired Teacher Association.



Mrs. Moore was also active in a wide variety of community activities. She was a member and an officer of the Dawson Springs Y.W. Club. Mrs. Moore was a member and officer of the Pennyrile Homemakers Club and the Hopkins County Homemakers Organization where she served as a member. She served as an officer of the Board of Directors of the Area Foster Grandparents Program’s Advisory Council.



Mrs. Moore enjoyed an active spiritual life as a member of the Providence General Baptist Church where she served for many years as an adult Sunday Teacher and has been a volunteer in the food program of the church.



She is survived by her husband of 61years, Robert J. Moore of Dawson Springs, KY, a daughter ~ Melissa Jean Moore Wilm of Newburgh, IN, a son ~ John P. Moore (Wanda) of Dawson Springs, KY, four grandchildren ~ Amber Moore Boucher (Jerry), Jonathon Chase Moore (and friend, Rihanna), Katie Moore and Madeline Wilm, four great-grandchildren ~ Braiden Boucher, Holden Boucher, Brantley Moore and Hunter Moore, several nieces and nephews; and special friends ~ Deward and Naomi Stallins.



Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters ~ Mildred Lamb Johnson and Reva Lamb Kell.



Visitation for Mrs. Jeannine Moore will be Thurday, February 16, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Friday, February 17, 2017 and from 9:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with Bro. Barry Cullen officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Sprigns, KY.



Active Pallbearers include the Deacons of the Providence General Baptist Church and Honorary Pallbearers include Jerry Boucher, Johnathon Moore, Braiden Boucher, Holden Boucher, Brantley Moore and Hunter Moore.
