James Glen Lewis, age 85, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Lewis was born on October 6, 1938 in Harlan County, KY to the late Homer Lewis and Eva Morgan Lewis. He served his country in the United States Army as a 101st Airborne Air Trooper. Mr. Lewis was a heavy equipment operator and strip miner and was a member of the UMWA. He was a member at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Christian County, KY.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years ~ Peggy Reece Lewis of Dawson Springs, KY; a daughter and son-in-law ~ Terri and Jeff Bryant of Madisonville, KY; a son and daughter-in-law ~ Randy and Kim Lewis of Dawson Springs, KY; a granddaughter ~ Amanda Lewis Dame and one great-grandson ~ Ryker Dame.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister ~ Helen Green and a brother ~ Phil Lewis.
There will be a graveside service for James Glen Lewis on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Macedonia Cemetery in Christian County, KY at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Bill Crick will officiate the service.
Active pallbearers will be: Randy Lewis, Jack Reece, Jimmy Dale Dillingham, Jeff Bryant, Patrick Russell and Jason McCraw. Ryker Dame will be an honorary pallbearer.
