James Lee Camplin, age 83, of St. Charles, KY, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY, freeing him from Alzheimer’s disease which he had battled for many years. Mr. Camplin was born on October 15, 1935 in St. Charles, KY to the late Nelson Camplin and Pauline Sneed Camplin. He retired after working at Island Creek and P & M Coal Mines and was of the Christian faith. He was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Surviving family members include his wife ~ Hilda Camplin of Madisonville, KY; a daughter and son-in-law ~ Tonya Camplin Williams and Harold Williams of Brandon, FL; a son and daughter-in-law ~ Jimmy & Belinda Camplin of Dawson Springs, KY; three sisters ~ Dean Duncan and Hilda Denton of St. Charles, KY and Jean Cummings of Providence, KY; two brothers ~ Darrell Camplin of St. Charles, KY and Charles Camplin of Nortonville, KY; four grandchildren ~ Alison Camplin, Celeste Williams, Nathan Camplin and Eli Williams and one great-granddaughter ~ Addy Prow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters ~ Faye Grundy and Loudella Camplin and two brothers ~ Sam Camplin and Harold Camplin.
A visitation for Mr. James Lee Camplin will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Clifton Vandiver and Rev. Jon Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow at the Gilland Ridge Cemetery in St. Charles, KY.
Active pallbearers include Charles Camplin, Nathan Camplin, Cody Mercer, Harold Williams, Eli Williams and Kyle Bolvin.
