James E. Baker, age 76, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Baker was born on July 3, 1941 in Madisonville, KY to the late John W. Baker and Flora Minnie Bell Turner Baker. He was a retired Construction Contractor and he was of the Christian Faith. Additionally, he served in the Merchant Marines.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife ~ Helen Sue “Susie” Jennings Baker of Dawson Springs, KY, five daughters ~ Sheila Gray, Vickie Robarge, Shawna Goolsby, Ambria Baker and Paige Baker of Dawson Springs, KY; six sons ~ James M. Baker of Booneville, IN, Dee Jay Baker of Elberfeld, IN, Timothy Gray of Madisonville, KY, Michael Gray, David Gray and Wesley Gray all of Dawson Springs, KY; a brother - John Baker, Jr.; twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Preceding Mr.Baker in death are his parents, five sisters ~ Artie Sharp, Beatrice Hook, Rita Small, May Mendoza, and Anna Louise Baker; three brothers ~ Audley Johnson, Marion (Woody) Baker, and Ruban (R.J.) Baker.
Visitation for Mr. James Edward Baker will be Friday, April 20, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with the Rev. Doug Barnett officiating. Active Pallbearers include James Baker, Dee Jay Baker, David Gray, Michael Gray, Timothy Gray, Wesley Gray, Charlie Goolsby and B.J. Cotton. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
