Howard Scott Simons

Howard Scott Simons, age 64, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN. Mr. Simons was born on September 1, 1954 in Caldwell County to James Simons and the late Phyllis Jeanne Morris Howton. He was a graduate of Dawson Springs High School, and Technical Electrical School. He owned and operated Hayes Hardware in Dawson Springs from 2000 until present. And, he owned and operated Simons Construction prior to Hayes Hardware. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Dawson Springs. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a former member of the local American Legion, VFW and Eagles.



Mr. Simons is survived by his wife ~ Penny Simons of Dawson Springs, KY; three sons ~ Greg (Shanon) Simons of Nashville, TN, Will Simons of Dawson Springs, KY and Aaron (Danielle) Hays of Dawson Springs, KY; two sisters ~ Jane (Stephen) Strait of Dawson Springs, KY and Melissa (Danny) Fain of Earlington, KY; his father ~ James (Anna) Simons of Dawson Springs, KY; and two grandchildren ~ Kaire Elizabeth Hays and Gabriel Aaron Hays.



Preceding Mr.Simons in death is his mother ~ Phyllis Jeanne Howton, a son ~ Gabriel Scott Simons, and a sister ~ Elin Simons.



Visitation for Mr. Howard Scott Simons will be Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY. His service will be officiated by Rev. Bobby McKnight and Rev. Ricky McKnight. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.



Active Pallbearers include Greg Simons, Will Simons, Aaron Hays, Chris Moore, Roy McGregor, and Ralph Dunkerson. Honorary Pallbearers include Matthew Bone, Scott Mason, Sean Michael Mason, and Adam Hays and Jesse Eli.
