Gilbert Lee “Coon” Suttle, age 87, of St. Charles, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Suttle was born on December 4, 1937 in St. Charles, KY to the late Elvie Suttle and Rosie Dimple Greer Suttle. Gilbert worked as a coal miner for 30 years and was a member of the UMWA and a member of Dayspring Assembly of God Church in Dawson Springs, KY. He loved spending time with his family, camping, fishing, traveling and attending antique car shows. He also enjoyed collecting antique cars.
Mr. Suttle is survived by his wife of eighteen years ~ Janice Suttle; two daughters ~ Cathy (Jerry) Broaddus and Peggy (Kevin) Cobb; a son ~ Michael (Kelly) Suttle; two sisters~ Thelma Dillingham and Shirley Wegener; brother ~ Donald "Crockett" Suttle; two step-children ~ Robert (Becky) Laffoon and Bobby Laffoon; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved first wife of 45 years ~ Mrytle Suttle; two sons ~ Ronnie Dale Suttle and Jerry Lee Suttle; three brothers ~ Harley Suttle, Wayne Suttle and Harolden Suttle.
Visitation for Gilbert Lee “Coon” Suttle will be on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Monday, February 17, 2025 from 11:00 A. M. until the 1:00 P.M. funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. Danny Earl and Pastor Kathy Redden officiating. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY.
Pallbearers will be: Thomas Cobb, Travis Pearson, David Miller, Calynn Suttle, Christian Suttle and Trenton Hayes. Chad Laffoon and Gunner Laffoon will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
