Gary Carlton Smiley

Gary Carlton Smiley, age 79, of Madisonville, KY passed away on June 9, 2024 at Skyline Medical Center, Nashville, TN.  Mr. Smiley was born on November 11, 1944 at Princeton, KY to the late Olwyn Smiley and Vera Peek Smiley. He worked for 25 years and retired with the Kentucky Department of Highways where he was an Engineering Tech II.  Mr. Smiley was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and he was a member of the Morton’s Gap Christian Church.

Mr Smiley is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Patricia Kay Smiley; two sons, Brian Kelly Smiley (Aimee) of Madisonville, KY, Aaron Scott Smiley (Jennifer) of Trenton, TN; brother, Ronnie Smiley of Garland, TX; three sisters, Phyllis Blackburn of Dawson Springs, KY, Shirley Boren of Sterling, VA, and Linda Smiley of Charleston, W.VA; six grandchildren, Daniel Smiley, Jonathan Smiley, Arin Smiley, Corey Goodwin, Hunter Goodwin and Ashlee Goodwin.

Mr. Smiley is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sara Jo Phillips; brothers, Wayne Smiley and Tony Smiley.

Visitation for Gary Carlton Smiley will be on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery in Caldwell County, KY.
