Gabe Glenn Purdy

Gabe Glenn Purdy, age 68, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at his residence. He was born on August 17, 1954 in Hopkinsville, KY to the late Dixon Bradley Purdy, Jr., and Enda Mullins Purdy. Mr. Purdy was a graduate of Dawson Springs High School and attended Murray State University where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He worked as a coal miner for 27 years and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson Springs.

He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Woodfork, and his son, Weslyn Purdy (Heather) of Dawson Springs, KY; two brothers, Dixon Bradley “Brad” Purdy III, (Jenny) of Henderson, KY, and Dan Russell Purdy (Debbie) of Dawson Springs, KY; three grandchildren, Benjamin Purdy, Ellie Purdy and Emma Purdy.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held for Gabe Glenn Purdy on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY. Elder Jeff Winfrey will officiate the service and burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY. Pallbearers include Rusty Purdy, Wes Purdy, Ross Workman, Kent Workman, Ben Purdy and Rich Hawkins.
