Ethel Louise Gates

Ethel Louise Gates, age 71, of Ilsley, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Gates was born on April 8, 1946 in Ilsley, KY to the late William Floyd Jackson and Jennie Katherine Messimore Jackson. She was a member of the Gospel Light Holiness Church of Nortonville, KY and she had worked with the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY from the date the facility was opened until her recent retirement.



Mrs. Gates is survived by her husband ~ Gary Gates of Ilsley, KY, two sons ~ Terry Sharp of Ilsley, KY, and Jonathan Daniel (Kim) Livingston of Augusta, GA, two sisters ~ Elizabeth (Robert) Royal of Ilsley, KY, and Linda Camplin (Emmitt) of White Plains, KY, a step daughter ~ Christina Holt Gates of Louisville, KY, two step sons ~ Stephen Dewayne (Christine) Gates of Mt. Washington, KY and Gary Paul (Gina) of Madisonville, KY), and eight step grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband ~ Darrell Keith Sharp, and two sisters ~ Patsy Neisz and Evaughn Davis.



Visitation for Mrs. Gates will be Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY and on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY with the Rev. Darel Gates officiating. Burial will follow at the Ilsley Cemetery.
