Elmer “Fudd” Bowens, age 73, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Bowens was born on August 6, 1944 to the late Paul Bowens and Lonnie Bates. He was an Automotive Mechanic specializing in Ford Automotive products. Mr. Bowens served his country in the U.S. Army, and he was a member of the Charleston Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Bowens loved his family and coaching local sports.
Mr. Bowens is survived by his wife of fifty three years ~ Martha “Marty” Lou Maass Bowens of Dawson Springs, KY; three daughters ~ Penny Ellen Franklin of Farmington, MO, Patricia Dawn Matheny of Nortonville, KY and Amanda Joy (Josh) Gunn of Providence, KY; six grandchildren ~ Justin Franklin, Tyler Matheny, Jacob Matheny, Mason Matheny, Sylas Gunn and Isabella Gunn; three great-grandchildren ~ J. T. Franklin, Austin Franklin and McKinzy Franklin; three brothers and one sister.
Preceding Mr. Bowens in death are his parents, and one sister.
Visitation for Mr. Elmer Bowens will be Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 3:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY. Rev. Patrick Yates will officiate the funeral service.
