Dr. Joe D. Winfrey

Dr. Joe D. Winfrey, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY. Dr. Winfrey was born on December 7, 1930 in Russell County, KY. He was a 1958 graduate of the University of Louisville Dental School and had a Dental practice in Dawson Springs beginning in 1958 until recent years. He was a devoted member and deacon of the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church.



Dr. Winfrey is survived by a wife of 59 years~ Faye Jones Winfrey of Dawson Springs, KY; daughter~Jennifer Lynne Winfrey of Dawson Springs, KY; two sons and daughters-in-law~Jeff (Christy) Winfrey of Dawson Springs, KY, and Jon (Lisa Ann) Winfrey of Lawrenceburg, KY; a sister~ Mildred Hale of Russell Springs, KY; four grandchildren~K.C. Winfrey, Lynsey Smith, Joshua Winfrey & Jeriann Kallin, and two great grandchildren~Aspen Winfrey and Cruz Winfrey.



Preceding



Dr. Winfrey in death were his parents ~ Charlie Ray Winfrey and Chena Carnes Winfrey and a great grandchild~ Ellie Rose Winfrey.



Visitation and services for Dr. Winfrey will be held at the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Elder Travis Housley will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Christian County.



Active Pallbearers will be Jeff Winfrey, Jon Winfrey, K. C. Winfrey, Joshua Winfrey, Jessie Smith, and Benjamin Kallin. Honorary Pall bearer will be Ted Armstrong.
