David Duane Cotton

David Duane Cotton, age 74, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on April 30, 2020 at “Linda White Hospice House” of Deaconess Hospital Midtown, Evansville, IN. Mr. Cotton was born in Madisonville, KY on August 28, 1945 to the late Rufus Cotton and Mildred Sisk Cotton. For most of Mr. Cotton’s working life he was a “long haul” and “coal” truck driver. During his final thirteen years of work he enjoyed serving as the school janitor with the Dawson Springs School District. He was an active member of the Day Spring Assembly of God.



Mr. Cotton is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jeri Brown Cotton of Dawson Springs, KY, two daughters, Vicki Cotton of Madisonville, KY and Valerie Maher of Manitou, KY; three brothers, Jackie (Diane) Cotton of St. Charles, KY, Barry (Debby) Cotton of Ilsley, KY, and Joey (Melia) Cotton of Jamestown, North Dakota; one sister, Diann (Jeff) Gilmore of Colorado Springs, CO; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



In compliance with health and public safety directives and the Governor of Kentucky’s Executive Order, a private service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Ilsley Cemetery, Ilsley, KY with Pastor Kathy Redden, officiating.



Mr. Cotton’s service will be streamed live on Beshear Funeral Home Facebook beginning at 2:00 PM. (To view: “Google” beshearfuneralhomefacebook and select “videos” among the menu options).



A “drive through visitation and book signing” (funeral home personnel will sign for visitors) will be held in front of Beshear Funeral Home on Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM. (Directions for Drive by Viewing: Drive your vehicle SOUTH on North Main St., pull up in front of Beshear Funeral Home next to the curb and tent, one vehicle at a time. Vehicles must remain six feet apart. Do not exit your vehicle.)
