Betty Lou Hamby

Betty Lou Hamby, age 69, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY. Mrs. Hamby was born on November 15, 1939 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Willie Arlene and Nora Frances LaPradd McCord. She was a beloved mother and homemaker and also retired as a bus driver with the Hopkins County School System. Mrs. Hamby was a member of Charleston Baptist Church in Charleston, KY.



Survivors include her husband ~ Wayne Hamby of Dawson Springs, KY; daughters ~ Janet Dunbar of Dawson Springs, KY and Teresa Smeeks of Taylorsville, NC; a son ~ David Hamby of Chicago, IL; sisters ~ Martha Campbell of Madisonville, KY, Anna Johnson of Dawson Springs, KY and Debbie Davis of Madisonville, KY; brothers ~ Bill McCord of Pensacola, FL a d Jimmy McCord of Dawson Springs, KY; and seven grandchildren.



Mrs. Hamby was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters ~ Verna Mae Jones and Joyce Campbell.



Visitation for Mrs. Betty Lou Hamby will be Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 9:00 Am until the 2:00 PM funeral hour at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Rev. Calvin Bryant will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
