Bertha Lee Johnson

Bertha Lee Johnson, age 79, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at her home. Ms. Johnson was born on May 4, 1944 in Madisonville, KY to the late Pearley Lee O’Bryan and Dolly Barton O’Bryan. She worked for eight years at the Dawson Springs Nursing Home where she was a Medicine Tech.

Ms. Johnson is survived by a daughter, Melinda Johnson of Caldwell County near Dawson Springs, KY; two sons, George Edward “Eddie” Johnson, Jr. (Daphne) of Madisonville, KY and Randy Johnson of Marion, IL; five grandchildren, J.J., Jennifer, Matt, Steven and Brandon; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, George Edward Johnson, Sr., son, Tracy Allen Johnson; brother, Howard Johnson; four sisters, Jean Walker, Carol Vaughn, Mary Louise Ford and Dorothy Mae O’Bryan; twin infant siblings; three half-sisters, Patricia Haws, Hilda Wollum, Helen Wood; and a half brother, Paul O’Bryan.

A visitation for Bertha Lee Johnson will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour at 3:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Dawson Springs, KY 42408 with Rev. Charles Woodard and Steven Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
