Allen Ray Redden, age 96, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN. Mr. Redden was born on December 27, 1926 in Caldwell County, KY to the late Elvis and Ada Capps Redden. He was a graduate of Dawson Springs High School and also served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Redden was a heavy equipment operator in the coal mines for many years, was the owner and operator of Redden Excavating and was a member of the UMWA. He was a faithful member of Landmark Apostolic Church for 77 years where he served as trustee, Sunday School teacher and was the church treasurer for 48 years.
Mr. Redden is survived by his beloved wife of 77 years ~ Alice Dean Thomas; a daughter ~ Ruby Dean Caudill; two sons and daughters-in-law ~ Joe Allen and Kathy Redden and Roger and Tammie Redden; five grandchildren ~ Tana Waddlington, Jason and Lori Gray, Dr. Holly and Kevin Divine, Dr. Amy and Ken Argo and Austin and Hallie Redden; a sister ~ Joann and Monroe Cluck, a brother ~ Wayne and Karen Redden; fourteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters ~ Betty Sue Summers and Billye Joyce Ball; brothers ~ William Earl Redden and James Donald Redden; grandsons, John Gray and Thomas Redden.
Visitation for Mr. Allen Ray Redden will be Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY; and, again on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 11:00 AM at Landmark Apostolic Church in Dawson Springs, KY with Rev. David Bayer, Rev. Robert Akers and Rev. Rusty Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County, KY.
Pallbearers will be Austin Redden, Jason Gray, Kevin Divine, Ken Argo and Kolton Shear.
