Alga Mae Davis, age 98, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville, KY. Mrs. David was born on December 17, 1918 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Shellie Jackson and Martha Lou Townzen Jackson. She worked for many years and retired with Ottenheimer Manufacturing. She was a devout Christian who loved her God. She was of the Pentecostal Faith, and she loved to go to church where she was a song leader, Sunday School teacher, and Prayer Warrior. She was an excellent seamstress and her family will always remember her good homemade biscuits and cobblers.
Survivors include two daughters ~ Linda Lanham (Tom) of Madisonville, KY, and Anga Bayer (Rev. David Bayer) of Evansville, IN; a sister ~ Thelma Peroddy of Dawson Springs, KY; seven Grandchildren ~ Michael Davis, Jennifer Baldwin, Steve Lanham, Chera Hockensmith, Chad Bayer and Mark Bayer, thirteen Great Grandchildren, and five Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her Husband ~ Louis Hershel Davis, Son ~ Hildon Maloy Davis, Brother ~ Myron Jackson, two infant Brothers, and a Granddaughter ~ Tamara Burrow.
Visitation for Alga Mae Davis will be on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM at the Landmark Apostolic Holiness Church in Dawson Springs, Kentucky with the Rev. Ron Elliott and Rev. David H. Bayer officiating. Burial will follow at the Rosedale Cemetery. Active Pallbearers include: Steve Lanham, Trevor Baldwin, Chad Bayer, Mark Bayer, and Kevin Hockensmith.
The family would like to express a special “thank you” to the nurses and staff of Ridgewood Terrace for their kindness and care during their mother’s stay.
